Man never is, but always to be blest.

Well, it's been some time. The most recent change in my life is that I have officially resigned. But before I go into more detail as to why I decided to resign, let me talk about my experiences first.

On the very first day I started work, I was told that the turnover rate in my company is 3 people leaving per day. Excellent morale booster eh? That was 1.5 years ago. That statistic is unfortunately, true.

My company manufactures wafers. No, not the type that can be eaten. The manufacturing process can take anything from 3 to 6 months. My job is to ensure the chemical supply used for manufacturing does not get interrupted. This brings me to my first point. People.

My position is extremely people-oriented. I have the pleasure of being a customer and a service provider at the same time. I provide a service to the manufacturing team. At the same time, people are providing me a service to ensure my operations go smoothly. Basically, the whole world's problem is my problem, because I work with people from practically every department in my company. Complaints aside, it is the thinking process that makes everything valuable. How you conduct yourself is the utmost priority. And I'm happy to say that I have done pretty well in this area. Let's do something else.

Some of the best stuff that I have read:

1) Animal farm by George Orwell
2) The Colour Purple by Alice Walker
3) Dracula by Bram Stoker
4) Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys - read this and Jane Eyre will never be the same

There might be more, but these are all I think of for now. Just realised that they are all literature texts. Oh well. I guess it makes sense that I'm a Lit major eh?

Don't try this at home.
Pretend you don't see.
