Man never is, but always to be blest.

Whew. I think I will reapply to UOL next January. Now that I'm (hopefully) sure that I can support myself to work and study at the same time, I'll give it a try. I am not going to take up an engineering degree. Studious type I am not. I am more of a street smart person who prefers to use his brain to expand on what I already know rather than cram my brain and learn lots of other stuff. Ironically, this is totally different from my current profession. I'm enjoying everything so far, except that I am starting to feel the busy-ness. Things will get worse once I officially take over on January. In all honesty, I do plan to stay in the semiconductor industry as long as I possibly can. Having more experience is always a plus.

As for everything else, nothing much has changed. Years pass. I've stopped celebrating birthdays too. Somehow, it has lost its novelty. People are always talking about how much fun they had, especially on their 21st. On my 21st, I was still in Tekong, polishing my boots, waiting to book out, which luckily was a Saturday. How memorable is that?

Something else I find memorable is names. Names are something that can make or break a person. Also, I recommend thinking twice before you decide to name yourself something out of the ordinary. Imagine a pot-bellied, doddering middle-aged guy calling himself Romeo. Get my point? I do have a colleague named Agasi though, but the name suits him. You will understand if you see him in person.

Name are getting stranger and stranger nowadays. I mean, there was Vivian once. Now there's Vivien and Vivienne. Same with Cindy, Cyndi, Cindee, Sindy. I even saw a Xundy once. Which other variation can people come up with next, I wonder. Then there's things like Eleyn and Gjorn and who knows what else. Oh well.

Don't try this at home.
Pretend you don't see.
